Sweet, great resource! I also have seen topiaries and plants used as centerpieces.

From what I'm thinking and what I've discussed with Maymont (not that I'm totally having it there but they kind of laid it out for me) you don't have tables and chairs for everyone at an hors d’oeuvres event- because that way people won't mingle.

So table centerpieces may not be a huge focus because people won't sitting down and staring at them the whole time.

Yep. I'm guessing they said it would be highboys, etc. spread around? You would only possibly need centerpieces on a welcome table/any buffets/drop tables whatever...

If you want to have seats (for older people), you might want to mark the table/seats as "reserved" and let them know in advance. Otherwise, lazy people like me might sit down. :)

Yes, lazy people like me! I love to sit :)

I love to sit, too. They said they'd have about 100 chairs...how do I let the old people know that they're the people the chairs are reserved for?

"These chairs are only if you are 60 and older." lol.

Highboys=high-tops? Like bar tables, higher and you sit on stools?

You mark the chairs with reserved signs or ribbons or something and inform select parties that they are who they are reserved for. You don't have to say why and everyone else will, hopefully, see reserved and not sit down.

Highboys, hi-tops whatever... The tall tables at bars.
