Mmm... Cherry muffins

I felt inspired this morning to make the cherry muffins I've been talking about. Haven't tried them yet as they just came out of the oven, but they look delicious! I'll let you know if they taste that way too, later. Now we're off to see the apartment. Hope it's nice!

Cilantro Hummus!

Yum! Read this on a post on knittyboard about what to do with too much cilantro. This sounds amazing! V, what kind of food processor did yall get? I can't remember. The more I think about it the more we don't need an 11-cup mammoth beast.

So You Think You Can Dance

Are you watching this season, V? Kimberly insists this girl reminds her of Lauren, which I can kind of see between the red hair and face.

My favorite dance to date is this one: Chelsea & Mark.

I haven't liked the dancers as much this season, but this week was really great for lots of them! As usual the show makes me wish I was a dancer and that talented!

Hiking

Nice view, eh? You know where to find the rest :) Anyway, that was fun, but man, was it tiring! I promptly fell asleep as soon as we got back to the car. I think I need to keep working on the whole getting in shape thing. Definitely not nearly enough endurance...

We just got back from the farmer's market with some nice cherries, apples and blackberries. I can't wait to make these cherry muffins. For now though we're off to a hike and then a quick trip to Richmond to see my parents :)

I didn't warm up. I just took this for proof... Obviously, I need more strength. Until I took this I didn't realize I was lifting my opposing shoulder. My hands are also still a little high, my standing leg could be more turned out, and my other leg could be higher. ;)

Apartment hunting

We're going to check out an apartment on Sunday morning. Keep your fingers crossed that we like it and can get it right away.

Convertible Dress

We got back from the airport and my package was waiting outside the door. Yay! So getting size 6 was absolutely the right decision, I don't think I could have squeezed into a 4 without ripping most of the seams. I quickly tied it 3 different ways for ya'll to see and judge. This is going to be a fun dress! I do think it's a bit too long, so I may get it shortened, but the waist and bust area fit well! Opinions? Oh, and! R loves this dress :)

Okay, I put R to work and here is a picture of the Laundry by Design dress. I actually really like it. And I think I might wear it to the wedding in August. I don't mind the dark color and I don't really have any other lighter choices anyway. What ya'll think?

Ballet

I'm confused. Is this supposed to be topical? If so, I feel like I should make a new post re: ballet.

My favorite class is Basic Beginner on Thursday nights with Florentina (search for her name). It looks like she is doing Thursday night and Sunday afternoon this summer though, so I will have more options! I also take from Melissa Rodnon for Basic Beginner; her class isn't as challenging. All I mean by fit stuff is other efforts to be in shape.

I was holding my leg up to the side as in the third movement of each set in this video. Ours was a much slower exercise. My leg wasn't that high, maybe 65-70 degrees to the side.

On Tuesday, I went to see New York City Ballet (again) courtesy of my old co-worker, Linda. It was beautiful. I was most enamored with seeing Balanchine's The Prodigal Son. It premiered in 1929 for Ballet Russes* and except for the religious-based story doesn't seem particularly dated. The choreography was very unique and the cast was almost all men. Here is a review of a different night/different cast for the same set of performances.

*Great documentary about Ballet...made me weepy a little.

Dress reminds me of Sarah

Saw this this morning at Ann Taylor Loft in Times Square. The print totally reminds me of a Sarah dress, one probably from high school that she still keeps because she loves it!

Scoop it up

This is totally awesome! Normal ice cream scoops are barely any help, plus the cheap ones always bend back when you try to scoop it out and it's too hard. This is genius!
